https://github.com/TEIC/TEI/issues/1539 I did what was asked (added example with @org). But the example I added has multiple languages as it's part of another spec (<relation>) - I pared it down to just the English <desc>s. I could put it back with all the languages, or make a few more examples with each language. thoughts? --elli

ticket 1515 green for what?

TEI issue 1515 (see https://github.com/TEIC/TEI/issues/1515) is labeled green and assigned to me. The comment back in Prague was "Should use zone, but outside of figure, sibling (within surface for ex.)", which suggestion was posted on the ticket 02-06. OP came back less than 22 hours later pointing out that the semantics of @facs does not really permit this encoding. What, if anything, should I be doing with this? For this coming meeting, we are hoping to talk about ticket 296, possibly shifting focus from how to fix this tiny problem (no space between attr value and gloss thereof) to how to properly format a suggested values include list. If we actually finish with that in under an hour, we can talk about ticket 303, which turns out to be not nearly as simple as I thought when I originally posted the ticket.

Three things I'd like to change in the Stylesheets: 1) Use xpath-default-namespace="http://www.tei-c.org/ns/1.0", and stop using "tei:" all over.[1] 2) Change the prefix for our examples namespace[2] from "teix:" to "xmp:" or something similar. 3) Change the namespace used for functions and temporary elements to something other than "http://www.tei-c.org/ns/1.0". I discovered yesterday that I had not been thoroughly testing the stylesheets in between each change I made to the "sydb-rub" branch. Hugh (and Martina) -- Can we straighten out the meetings in Jan soon (i.e., today)? If the Stylesheets group is going to meet at its new "usual" time, and if we decide that is 2 days before the Council meeting (as opposed to 5 days after the Council meeting), and we decide the Council will meet Thu 01-04, then the Stylesheets group would be meeting in < 48 hours.

In odds/odd2odd.xsl (in the dev branch) we find several keys into the <*Spec> elements (e.g., "odd2odd-CHANGE") which use as their key (i.e., their @use) the value of tei:uniqueName(). That function (defined on line 279 of the same file) returns the @ident of the node passed to it, with the namespace in which the thing being specified is declared iff said namespace is not the TEI namespace. Martin -- When I run `ant test` from Stylesheets/Test2 on an Ubuntu system, it works. I'm planning on keeping the Stylesheets group in the mode of using work on stylesheets as a self-educational methodology (as opposed to the mission of actually working on stylesheets) for our Dec meeting this coming Thu 12-07. Saxon versions

As part of our investigation in to how far back oXygen will support the new @override-extension-function attr over the @override attr, I was charged (by me) with testing different versions of Saxon. We are hoping somebody will go through the various releases of oXygen to find out what versions of Saxon they are associated with.[1] The oldest version of Saxon 9 I could easily find on Sourceforge was "Saxon-HE 9.2.0.6J from Saxonica". I was scheduled to depart YVH on a lovely floatplane Sun 19 Nov 10:00, have some long and dreary layovers, and finally land in PVD Mon 20 Nov 01:25, which is a mere 12:25 later. (James scoffs! Magdelena harrumphs! The Scholgers start to sneer, but quickly suppress it; Peter is too hung over and jet-lagged to notice that 12.5 hours is a bit excessive[1].) I spent a panicky hour at my AirB&B searching around, and found a flight that would … [View More]get me into PVD Mon 20 Nov 11:49 (I think it was) for only ~$550. But 2 minutes later, when I went to buy it, Travelocity announced the price had gone up. It was now $1002! So I looked some more, and found another @ ~$560 that got me in Mon 20 Nov 13:56. That's > 2 hours worse (they left YYJ at the same time), but certainly the difference did not seem worth $500 of TEI's money. So I took it. I then went and had lunch at a diner (Pluto's on Cook -- I recommend it), and then took busses (the 14 to the 72 to the 88) to the airport, arriving almost 2 hours after I left the diner. After being grilled quite thoroughly by security (why are you asking me for the 3rd time if I packed my own bag?), the flight from YYJ to SEA was largely uneventful. (Pilot predicted landing a few mins early despite departing a few mins late, but we had to circle around due to reports of bad downdrafts near the runway, so ended up a few mins late. No problem.) After an ~5 hour layover, the red-eye flight from SEA to ORD was no problem, although I got almost no sleep. Flight from ORD to IAD boarded exactly on time. Then we sat there for almost an hour due to same maintenance documentation delay. Given that I had only an ~50 min layover in IAD to get from one terminal to another, there was no chance of making the connecting flight to PVD. So I was re-booked to a later flight,[2] and had another ~6 hour layover. I was scheduled to (and did) arrive in PVD at ~19:00, ~17.6 hours late, missing a (minor) medical appointment. I then had to take busses to get to my car (which was at the repair shop), and got home at ~20:40, which was over 3.5 hours late for my EMS shift. And, of course, I was completely exhausted after essentially doing nothing but traveling or planning travel since Sun 19 Nov 08:30 (11:30 ET), i.e. ~33 hours. Sigh. (BTW, that "nothing" included almost no sleep, but at least lots of work on tickets. :-) I got to bed circa 22:45 and slept for nearly 13 hours. Notes ----- [1] The usual is around ~11 hours; I've done it in as little as ~7.6, and as long as ~13.9. [2] One thing I will say that United did well in this, is that on landing at IAD I went to the customer service desk, and they had already re-booked me on the next available flight out, and printed up a boarding pass. They just had to print my (measly $10) meal voucher and hand them to me. Very efficient, although I would have preferred the efficiency be applied to getting that maintenance report to the flight crew. [View Less]

Martin (CC council) -- Obviously that change I made to P5/Test/antruntest.xml broke the build. The validation of detest.odd as an ODD file is producing no output, when it should produce quite a few errors. (This is the detest1.log file.) I'm working on a TEI to HTML conversion using the TEI Stylesheets. The recommended method for doing this (I'm told) is to issue $ /path/to/Stylesheets/bin/teitohtml /path/to/INPUT.xml But I do not know how to specify parameters using this mechanism, or if I even can do so. The odd4odds RELAX NG schema (soon to be tei_customization.rng in Exemplars/ unless someone comes up with a better name) is itself invalid when ID/IDREF checking is on (in oXygen), or the '-i' switch is not present (using `jing`). When I sat down to work on e-mail I discovered our cable connection (which is both TV and internet at my house) was down. Note that my wife was watching TV while I ate dinner, so it had been up a mere hour or so before. Anyway, I checked the TV and it had a message that implied they would probably have it fixed "shortly", but I did not wait, I just went to bed. Hi folks! Thanks again for joining the RomaJS meeting earlier today. I seem to have been able to fix the bugs that I found yesterday. Hi TEI Technical Council, Just to alert you that we currently have 102 open stylesheets issues and of those 79 are 'assigned to nobody'.
