release--where are we?

Dear Council, Since we are already in the middle of the freeze period, are there still any (big) issues to resolve? Elisa put a lot of work into measurement and I think it is ready to go. I'm also wondering about the pull request from Duncan on the uniHan issue - I think he met Phase 0, 1, 2, and 5. How should we proceed with that? Please have a look at the milestone and remove issues that do not go into the release: https://github.com/TEIC/TEI/milestones/Guidelines%203.6.0. There is already a milestone 3.7.0. Best, Martina

nesting TEI, standoff

Dear all, I would like to respond to the TEI-L regarding our request for feedback on nesting TEI and deprecating teiCorpus, and thank them for the discussion. In light of the discussion I believe the nesting TEI is off the table for the upcoming release. I'll set this on the agenda for the F2F meeting in Graz. Furthermore, I want to propose to dedicate the Monday afternoon in Graz - which is the last day of our F2F meeting - to the standoff discussion and ask the original proposers (and perhaps others who were involved with the discussion) to join the meeting if they happen to be in Graz early. This could be a break-out group, while other Council members not directly involved in the discussion could continue to work on other issues. A half day is certainly not enough, but that could lead to a follow-up workshop, as we had already considered. Please let me know what you think. Best wishes, Martina

Minutes

Dear all, We are now up to date with the publication of our minutes (see https://tei-c.org/activities/council/meetings/) While the 2019 minutes were approved by a Council member (thanks to all for your help with approving them), last year's minutes were not approved. I cleaned them up in suggestion mode, so everything is traceable in case Council decides to approve them in retrospect. I'll send an email to the TEI-L and announce the publication of the F2F Washington minutes. Best wishes, Martina

Measurement (#1707) is one— I am distracted a moment until I give a short talk tomorrow AM here in Utrecht, but I want to keep working on it tomorrow a bit— I think we can do it. minor schema-altering corrigible error fixed

I just discovered that the TEI schema had "alternate" as one of the values for classRef/@expand. The prose in the Guidelines, the remarks in the tagdoc, and the Stylesheets all say it should be "alternation". I see this as a corrigible error, and thus have fixed it. It is, however, a schema-changing alteration, and thus should be announced quite up-front in the release notes. BTW, I have checked through all of the Examplars, and none were using either value. See issues #1903 and #1904.

Stylesheets PR 374 -- a no-brainer?!

build broken again, blaming Syd

Hi Syd, your recent commit "Work on #1867“ https://github.com/TEIC/TEI/commit/8c67de23c612248f399962451100fd9de1dc812c broke the build with the error message "error: duplicate attribute „type““. I see that this is a combined issue of Guidelines #1867 and Stylesheets #370 where probably the Stylesheets need to be fixed first. So, since we are in refridge period I think it’d be better to revert that change and/or move this work into a separate branch. Best Peter
