Dear friends,
this mail is to to tell you that I will not stand for re-election. This
first experience in the TEI Council has been great and I have learned a
lot, surely much more than I could give back. I hope anyway that at least
some of my ideas and contributions to the discussion during our meetings
and our mail list exchanges have been useful to help TEI grow and get
better than ever.
But from this year I will have to go back fully to my academic role, with a
lot of teaching, research and bureaucratic work, sadly. And I have also to
honor my commitment with AIUCD, EADH and ADHO executives. I think that
serving in the Council requires much more time than I have, time to work on
tickets, bugs, to to the hard but really important stuff, in the end. And I
am sure that if re-elected I would occupy a place where probably someone
else could do much more work than me.
However, I would still contribute to the TEI Consortium, so I will stand
for a position in the Board. I hope that, if elected, from there I can
still help this great project to extend its role and presence in the DH and
Humanities research community.
Sincerely,
Fabio
