Hi All,
Several items of business now that release 3.1.0 is done:
We need to decide on meeting dates/times for the coming year. Is the last
Thursday of the month at 09:00 eastern USA / 14:00 UK / 15:00 Central
Europe ok with everyone? Or do we need to find another time to fit
everyone's schedules? I'd like to sort this out soon so that we can get our
schedules nailed down. Silence means you're happy with the status quo and
waive any right to complain later :-).
The last Thursday in December is the 29th, and I hope everyone will be on
holiday at that point, so I think we should skip December. Any
objections/cries of dismay?
A reminder that our next face-to-face meeting is coming up in February in
Prague. We will meet at Charles University, from the 5th–7th, with a
symposium/meeting on the 8th with local TEI folks. XML Prague starts on the
9th, and you may wish to stay for that. Book your travel! I know not
everyone will be able to stay for the local meeting, but I hope most of you
will. It should be fun, and will be a nice opportunity for some TEI
evangelism.
Nobody at all said they wanted to run for Chair, so I guess it's me again,
which is fine. But I would *strongly* encourage you to consider running
next year if you've any interest at all.
Finally, I want to thank everyone for their work this year. The release
yesterday was very smooth, which I hope means we've ironed out a lot of the
kinks that came with the transition over to GitHub. It has been a pleasure
working with you all!
All the best,
Hugh
