Since Council is playing a role in the conference, the Board has decided to
reimburse members who need it for the extra nights. The Board would like me
to remind everyone that there is a $1,500 cap on expenses to be reimbursed,
but it is understood that this may be exceeded in some cases, and that's
ok—you'll still get reimbursed unless your expenses are outlandish.
This is actually the first time I've heard of a cap, and I've a feeling it
was put in place before international flights got so expensive. My ticket
was close to $1,500 all by itself, though fortunately I'm able to get a
grant to pay for it. Bottom line is: don't let the cost stop you from
coming!
