I have now made all the changes I've so far identified as necessary to the TEI Simple Exemplar, and checked in a semi-final version for Council to review. It needs someone, not me, to read it carefully and nit-pickingly, or at least the first sixty pages or so pages of it. And it needs someone to do some testing of the schema. And it needs someone to fix the stylesheets so that the processing model info contained in the ODD is displayed in HTML/PDF outputs. The ODD source is, as per usual, in the repository at https://github.com/TEIC/TEI/blob/d9f349185b6a7263990c3c6fccc93567eb675e8e/P… The RELAXNG schema is at https://github.com/TEIC/TEI/blob/d9f349185b6a7263990c3c6fccc93567eb675e8e/P… I also have a massive HTML version, and a massive PDF version, which for the moment I have just bunged into my personal webspace at http://lb42.github.io/tei_simple.html and http://lb42.github.io/tei_simple.odd.pdf respectively. (Yes, I know the graphics dont show up in the HTML version) I look forward to Council's feedback as to whether this is (as I devoutly hope) now (nearly) ready for prime time.

Sebastian's Memorial Event

Hi TEI Council, As some of you know there is a memorial event for Sebastian taking place at Wolfson College on Tuesday 27 September 2016. The insightful of you will remember that we will be in the midst of a TEI Council Meeting (though I note that Magdalena, Martina, and Peter seem to be busy with workshops that day). (What is the schedule for the Council meeting again, on which days? I've lost track.) The proposal with regard to Sebastian's Memorial Event is that some of us might skype in to give a brief (10 min max) reflection on his work with the TEI and what his loss means to us. I'd suggest that Lou and/or Hugh might be suitable representatives to deliver this. We could propose something else back to the group organising this if Council wished. Issue Assignments

Hi all, I've gone through and assigned all of the unassigned issues (except for a couple of red ones). Your task is to at least investigate enough to form an opinion and make a comment on each ticket recommending a course of action. If there's a consensus in the comments, you can turn it green and do it, or if you can't do it yourself, hand it over to someone who can. Kevin has asked that we freeze posting in the CMS until it has been migrated, so I'm behind on posting the minutes with no way to catch up. I'm thinking I may just start a "documentation" repo and put both the minutes and the TCW docs there. I don't really like having documentation in the TEI repo, as updating the docs really shouldn't trigger a Jenkins build. We talked about this a bit at the last F2F iirc, but I don't remember if we reached a consensus on it. All the best, Hugh

Question for Mac Users

A Mac user of my acquaintance is trying to use the TEI Stylesheet library command teitoslides, which converts TEI XML to LaTeX and then to PDF. He seems to have hit a problem that I don't know how to solve, namely that the Minion and MyriadPro fonts which the Stylesheets expect to be available by default, are not. On my Ubuntu system, I just grab a copy of the opentype fonts and put them in the right place in /usr/share/fonts/ and Everything Just Works. But I haven't the faintest idea how to do the equivalent, if there is one, on a Mac. Has anyone tried this? If you've ever tried to build the Guidelines PDF you must have hit the same problem, I think, since they expect you to have these fonts too. Any advice gratefully received
