Hi all, Am I correct in remembering that: a) Magdalena and I will be doing the 3.1.0 release (assuming blockers are finished soon) on Tuesday 6 December 2016? b) You are all going to add your most important interesting, or indeed any, work to this file https://github.com/TEIC/TEI/blob/dev/P5/ReleaseNotes/readme-3.1.0.xml to make it easier on us. c) That we're probably meant to start 'freezing' soon and creating the new release branch. I believe we'd agreed tomorrow, at a meeting I couldn't attend, but I'm wondering if we might push that to be midnight (GMT) on Friday to give those (inc. me) finishing off last little things some extra time. That still gives us 11 days before release. What do people think? -James -- Dr James Cummings, James.Cummings@it.ox.ac.uk Academic IT Services, University of Oxford

For the US people, it makes no difference, as we'll be stuffing ourselves
on Thursday and nursing our hangovers and shopping like good little
consumers on Friday. So I think Friday is fine :-)

Martin asks if we can upgrade the Saxon version we use, thereby making us
forward-compatible with the next Oxygen release and possibly catching some
previously undetected bugs, as the new version seems to be pickier. See
https://github.com/TEIC/Stylesheets/issues/190
I think yes.

Fine by me but with the proviso that any consequent fallout shouldn't block the next release.

I note also that updating to saxon 9.7 is not entirely simple : we have copies of saxon9he.jar all over the place... On 22/11/16 17:51, Lou Burnard wrote:

Just to go off on a tangent for a second: I noticed, and I think Martin did
too, that the NVDL we link to in the Specs is the old TEIP5
last-successful-build, not the TEIP5-dev one. I've fixed that, so we'll be
able to properly validate our specs again. Will push it as soon as the
current Jenkins build is done. You might want to hold off on pushing,
because this touches every XML file in the Guidelines and Specs.

OK to try my push to Stylesheets?

Yeah, should be fine now.

At this rate, I'm not sure I'll be ready even by Friday.
