I've a vague memory we covered one Lou Burnard's participation as an invited expert at least once. I guess we haven't usually reimbursed them, as we've tended to take advantage of people who happened to be on site (we have certainly paid for their meals), but I don't think there's any reason why we shouldn't cover Susanne for a night, if that's the most convenient thing for everyone. The thing to do would be to have the Chair ask the Board if they'll fund it. There's a Board meeting on Thursday, so I'd think it would get discussed then.
