Hello, There is currently a ticket on github (and sourceforge) that proposes to drop oVar and pVar in order to give favor to the (extension of the) elements oRef and pRef, see https://github.com/TEIC/TEI/issues/545. The Technical Council feels that they don't have enough data on the usage of these (probably less common) forms pVar and oVar, so we cannot judge confidently whether to drop them, i.e. whether there might not be people who will be affected.
