Transcription of spoken language draft
Hi all, I was just following up with Thomas Schmidt on this ticket: http://sourceforge.net/p/tei/feature-requests/511/ which is one of at least two relating to the ISO/TEI spoken language proposal, and he's sent me a draft dated April 27, which is later than the last one mentioned on Lou's ticket: http://sourceforge.net/p/tei/feature-requests/539/ He's still not happy with this being posted publicly, so we need a method of distributing it which is not public. The simplest thing would perhaps be to wait until the FtF and then just email it around. Does that work, or should be devise a password-protected location for it? Cheers, Martin
I may be over-reacting to this, but I am really not happy with this suggestion. The business of the Council is conducted in public, as a matter of principle. In my view, we should not be considering this draft until we can discuss it publicly. Of course if Thomas wants to make specific suggestions or modifications in line with the draft, we can discuss those like any others, but I don't think we should be accepting for formal review materials that are in some sense private property. My understanding from Laurent was that he was going to give us a kind of "de-branded" version of the document that would be ok to share. Can you close the loop with him Martin? I’m underwater for the next few hours I’m afraid.

I've checked with Laurent, and he things the best way to proceed right now is for us to address the (public) ODD for annotationGrp, along with the standoff proposal, and when those are moving forward, then we'll be in a better position to work on the ISO/TEI document. That makes sense to me. Cheers, Martin On 15-05-19 06:44 AM, Hugh Cayless wrote:

Good! Those seem like achievable chunks of work. I'm working on the agenda
doc for the F2F now, and we're planning to beam Laurent in for discussions
on Friday morning.
