I have received the attached confirmation from the hotel, listing Council members and their intended arrival and departure dates. I would appreciate it if you could check to make sure yours is correct. As for payment, I am told that the library entered an "accounting nightmare" the last time they tried to pay for everyone as a package deal. Is everyone willing to pay their own bill and ask for TEI reimbursement? If not, I could conceivably pay for everyone personally in advance, and then ask TEI to reimburse. But that would be quite a lot to put on my personal credit card. pfs -- Paul Schaffner Digital Library Production Service PFSchaffner@umich.edu | http://www.umich.edu/~pfs/

No problem for me, though as usual bank charges are likely to be iniqitous... I suppose this hotel doesn't take payment by payPal? I also echo Peter's appreciation of the efficient organisation! On 08/05/15 16:57, Paul Schaffner wrote:

Thanks Lou. Forgot about the bank charges. Perhaps we can handle this as we do group meals. That is, I can pay up front for those who expect to be reimbursed by the TEI -- and especially for those who bank in Euros or Pounds. Just let me know who you are and I can send my card number over to the hotel. pfs On Fri, May 8, 2015, at 15:29, Lou Burnard wrote:

Since it seems to have become a tradition of sorts, and a visit to the American suburbs may be an exotic adventure for some, I am thinking of offering a more-or-less traditional* US-style barbecue at home on the evening of Thursday 28 May. You could browse my vast clutter of books and tools, pace an equally vast expanse of scruffy grass (weather permitting), and engage in sedate sports (baseball! frisbee! croquet!). Transport would have to be arranged, but that seems feasible. What think ye? *presumably with vegetarian options pfs -- Paul Schaffner Digital Library Production Service PFSchaffner@umich.edu | http://www.umich.edu/~pfs/
Excellent! Especially the croquet. Will flamingoes be laid on, or do we have to bring our own? On 08/05/15 23:07, Paul Schaffner wrote:

I hadn't thought about the conversion charges. US -> CAD will also incur a cost. Can you include me? Cheers, Martin On 2015-05-08 02:59 PM, Paul Schaffner wrote:

Hotel's info looks correct for me, Paul. I'm certainly willing to pay my own hotel charges and be reimbursed. Usually I'm willing to pay charges for those from outside the USA, too, so that we can avoid excessive currency conversion fees. This time, though, I'm thinking there are a lot of people from outside the USA (7?), so I'm going to check on my finances and perhaps talk to John before committing to that.
Happy to pay mine and reclaim it myself. Cheers, Martin On 2015-05-08 08:57 AM, Paul Schaffner wrote:

Hi Paul, ok dates for me. As for payment, I have the same problem with
conversion $/€ (and Paypal rates are quite bad) but if it is necessary I
can pay, those few Euros won't be a big deal.

Hi Paul, the dates look good. The Rate/Pkg (a night is a package, right?) sounds sensible, so I am in. I will pay with credit card and claim it from my Austrian National Library. Let's hope that EUR still lives for a few more weeks. kind regards, Stefan Am 08.05.2015 17:57, schrieb Paul Schaffner:
