The current TEI Simple includes the following <div> <head>Transcription</head> <p>In order to support the <gi>sourcedoc</gi> and <gi>facsimile</gi> elements, the basic transcriptional elements are loaded, and two attribute classes.</p> <specGrp xml:id="transcr"> <elementRef key="damage"/> <elementRef key="damageSpan"/> <elementRef key="facsimile"/> <elementRef key="line"/> <elementRef key="listTranspose"/> <elementRef key="metamark"/> <elementRef key="mod"/> <elementRef key="redo"/> <elementRef key="restore"/> <elementRef key="retrace"/> <elementRef key="sourceDoc"/> <elementRef key="surface"/> <elementRef key="surfaceGrp"/> <elementRef key="surplus"/> <elementRef key="transpose"/> <elementRef key="undo"/> <elementRef key="zone"/> <classRef key="att.coordinated"/> <classRef key="att.global.change"/> </specGrp> </div> But none (NONE) of these elements is actually documented or exemplified in the text. Why are they included? These are also (for the most part) highly specialist elements, unlikely to be of interest to the 90% of TEI encoders Simple is allegedly aimed at. I could see a case for providing <facsimile>, and (perhaps) <zone> and <line> but the rest Makes No Sense. And providing documentation for them would be No Small Effort.
