I'd like to take CETEIcean, too. But to Martina's question, I am happy to do any workshop already in my bag of tricks, and willing to work on developing a new one if needed. The standard 2-day intro to TEI I am used to doing for the WWP might be a good choice. Should have 2 intructors. Sarah, you'll be teaching said same workshop w/ Sarah soon, no? Wanna do it again w/ me in Japan? BTW, if the scheduling can be arranged and Raff is willing, it might work quite well to fold CETEIcean in as the last half of the last day of this intro workshop. (We often cover "publication" in the last session or two, and typically use TEI Boilerplate. But would be fine for Raff to do it using CETEIcean instead.) The intro workshop could be shortened to 1.5-day to make this fit nicely, or could be left at 2 days (in which case we would get to cover customization a bit).

I agree that CETEIcean should be an independent workshop. According to our current plan we have our open Council meeting on Monday morning. This means that we only have the Sunday for a (possible one-day) TEI intro workshop... I'm also happy to help. Hi Syd— I agree—one can cover a lot of ground quickly and help people rusty with processing XML with a workshop on XPath, even one of just two hours. It might be possible to orient people to TEI of various interesting kinds if we teach XPath as a means of reading and navigating it, on some interesting sample TEI documents. My experience is a lot of XPath instruction at the heart of the coding classes I have been teaching to university students. Should we try it for the Tokyo conference?
