Hi Hugh,
Happy February!
Martin Holmes and the folks at UVic are doing a great job of getting us started with the CFP and website for the TEI MM that they will be hosting in November. Might you be able to check in with Council and solicit volunteers for the Program Committee? My goal is diversity in language and geography, along with a shared understanding of the integrity of peer review.
Thanks in advance for your help,
Best,
Kathryn

I've done it for a few years, happy to review again. Hi everyone-- If six people from Council want to serve in the program committee, have they then become the new program committee? And does that set a precedent, such that the Board comes to rely on Council in future to do the vetting of papers for the conference? If that is what is happening, then...okay, I'll volunteer too, because who wants to be left out of the fun? :-) But I wanted to point out that Hugh asked for a couple of volunteers, not most of us...and I wonder what the implications of this enthusiasm for the program committee will be for Council's workload. Should we be careful here?, asks the somewhat stressed teaching faculty member in your midst. Kathryn didn't specify a number. IIRC, in the past we've been asked for literally a couple of volunteers, but each program committee is to some extent a thing unto itself, so maybe she'll be happy with more. I was just going to forward her the list of volunteers, and let her decide whom to pick. We probably have more volunteers now than they'll need, but we'll see. Elisa, please don't feel like you should do it unless you really want to. No sense in adding to your stress level! Hugh On Mon, Feb 27, 2017 at 7:38 AM, Elisa <ebbondar@gmail.com> wrote:
