I agree w/ Lou completely on this: a 1-year term is a good idea, and Hugh continuing is also a good idea. I have no problem w/ Hugh standing unopposed. I presume by now we've sort of settled on that, eh?

I agree. It takes a year for a chair person to get into their stride. The good thing about having a one year term is that they can then stand down without loss of face if they have failed to get into their stride rather than struggle on. But our current chair has no need to do that, on the contrary I would certainly hope he does continue.
