Well, for one thing the stylesheets need some tweaking in order to display processing model stuff in the reference doc. Or so it seems to me. I think we have a responsibility to integrate TEI Simple into the TEI infrastructure and make it available as an exemplar. I think undertaking it make it the novice's view of TEI or the first TEI people see or merging it, Lite, or other exemplars, etc. are all very different bits of work. I would suggest that we do what we are required to do in the first instance and build on that as requested.
