At the end of 2016 under “Customizations provided by the TEI Consortium”
the “TEI simplePrint: An entry-level customization, focused primarily on
the needs of those encoding Western European early modern printed
material” was added to the existing list
(http://www.tei-c.org/Guidelines/Customization/).
In the article, /Mueller, Martin; Rahtz, Sebastian; Zillig, Brian
Pytlik; Cummings, James; Turska, Magdalena (2015): TEI Simple: An
Introduction. A tour of TEI Simple from an encoding perspective. Online
at
https://htmlpreview.github.io/?https://github.com/TEIC/TEI-Simple/blob/maste...,
8.2015, 18.01.2017/, it is mentioned, that “TEI Simple targets the area
of Letters in the broad and old-fashioned sense of that term. Its choice
of elements reflects the practices followed in the encoding of
large-scale archives, notably the archives produced by the Text Creation
Partnership, but also the German Text Archive and a variety of archives
encoded according to Level 4 of the Best Practices for TEI in Libraries.
It is simple only with regard to its <text> element.”
For that I would like to ask:
Will there be any further “Customizations provided by the TEI
Consortium” concerning the “TEI Simple”, including e. g. manuscripts and
letters, in the near future?
