I agree with Hugh that the current spec is prematurely precise.
But Hugh wasn't saying it is prematurely precise, he was complaining it is prematurely imprecise.
Maybe removing the <valList> and substituting a more vague <desc> such as "may be used to characterise the scope of the associated xenodata, for example as relating to the source of the document, or to the document itself, or some other topic." would be a reasonable step forward in our current state of ignorance?
As argued in the previous e-mail, I don't think so. I'd prefer to hold off on publishing a P5 with <xenoData> until we've hashed this out than to publish one that is deliberately floppy and unhelpful. (Users don't want us to be floppy and unhelpful.)
