Since it seems to have become a tradition of sorts, and a visit to the American suburbs may be an exotic adventure for some, I am thinking of offering a more-or-less traditional* US-style barbecue at home on the evening of Thursday 28 May. You could browse my vast clutter of books and tools, pace an equally vast expanse of scruffy grass (weather permitting), and engage in sedate sports (baseball! frisbee! croquet!). Transport would have to be arranged, but that seems feasible.
