I do not want to create any problem, if the majority of Council and
Board is happy with this system let's go on with it. I do not think
the video is a must, although it helps the interaction especially for
non native English speakers, and some resource sharing facilities can
make the meetings more productive.
Only I would like to have the chance to use the conf system from the
net, since in many occasion one member can be in the situation of not
having any wired phone at hand. So at least we could ask the company
offering the service if they advice any best (or at least working)
practice for this.

Just for background: there are multiple reasons we use the current economy conference call system. When the Board and Council were investigating this we tried various things but had all the usual problems with systems that sounded like there was a gale blowing down the line, or people not muting themselves etc. Personally I prefer google hangouts (multiple video conference 'just works' ... once people set it up right) to skype, but we've tried various options. These are getting better all the time. The actual cost of one of the conference calls to the TEI using this system is minimal, and it generally works, has a good range of international numbers, and there is also support.
If we did decide to open the can of worms that is investigating conference calling systems again, then we should do it on board-council list since they would presumably want to use the same system.

I have credit. It's such a trivial cost I don't really notice it.

Are you using the free version or you have credit? I tried some time ago but I could not get the line.

Hmm, I usually use Skype with one of the US numbers at our conf calls. Works like a charm …

Our voice conf system works only by wired phone, and nowadays it is very hard to find one if you are out of office. It is quite annoying to beg for a wired phone when you for ex. are at a conference, where usually you have a fast access to the net (like me last week!).
