Per previous discussions on this, TEI will cover both the meeting and the conference, but would love it if your institution could cover some of the expense. My own feeling is that meals and per diem after the Council meeting should probably be at our own expense, but lodging during the Annual Meeting should be covered. It's a bit of a gray area though. Likely your Treasurer will approve any reasonable expenses :-).

Hi all - a clarification on what the TEI is covering :

--hotel for Thur-Mon night (Council meetings) Does TEI expect to cover any of Tue-Thur?  I think I'll try to get Brown to pay for most of my conference expenses, but would like to clarify.

I paid for 1 group meal (SB, MS, PS, EM, MH) - it was the night that you all got to go to the okonomiyaki place.

Hi folks,

PSA about the per diem in Tokyo:

US Dept. of State rate for Meal and Incidental Expense rate in Tokyo is $227

Breakfast: 34
Lunch: 57
Dinner: 91
Incidentals: 45 (but remember we're supposed to keep this under 20 or submit receipts)

Syd (and others), which meals did you pay for the group? We had fewer lunches / dinners together this year IIRC.

I covered the okonomiyaki dinner on 2018/09/07 with council members: RV (+1), SS, JC, EBB.

Hope everyone had smooth travel back home!
Raff
