Hi all,
I got an email back from the person who controls the spaces on the nice university building right on the beach on the coast outside Newcastle closer to where I live. It is available those dates, but because it is in such demand they charge 250 GBP a day for it. So instead we'd have the meetings on campus (free meeting rooms but maybe not the same each day). We could still go out to the coast some evening for supper or something. Just in case that sways your vote to/from Newcastle.
Many thanks,
James

Excellent, we have the date for our Spring F2F meeting. It is May 6-8.
Please continue voting on locations until Tuesday. I was assuming that all the locations would be available on that dates. If that’s not the case, please let me know.
Here is the link again: https://doodle.com/poll/fk6e3yi58zx2c6tt. It is an anonymous voting.
Best wishes,
Martina

That is to say, should those TEI Council members who are in contact with specific venues for hosting now check in with those venues to see which are actually available on the dates we've selected? And report back if they are not, so that we may narrow our options accordingly.

Hi all-- On locations for the Spring F2F, I wonder if some might eliminate themselves now that we've narrowed down the dates? Should we check that first before voting on locations?
Cheers,

Hi Raff and all,
I think you meant to add the Council for this as a recipient too…
Actually, Hugh’s voting is missing. At the moment our best option is May 6-8. Hugh, would that be possible for you too?
We have 4 great offers for locations, that makes it really difficult to decide. But keep in mind that every potential host offered to organize the Council meeting also in the following years.
We have heard a number of arguments that speak for one or the other location: TEI/DH people we might meet there; meeting in conjunction with a workshop; easy to organize; not too expensive; easy to reach; the Autumn meeting is in Europe etc.
I set up another doodle where everyone can vote for their preferred location: https://doodle.com/poll/fk6e3yi58zx2c6tt. Please do that until Tuesday, so that we have our final decision on Wednesday. If you think a blind voting is better, I can change the settings accordingly.
Best wishes,
Martina

Hi Martina and all,
I think we all filled this in and can find dates that work. Should we have another doodle or something for voting on location? I told people at the Folger that I would let them know by the end of the month. No pressure if that doesn't happen, but either way it may be worth figuring out how we're going to decide sooner rather than later.
